How the KingMaker Magazine Got Its Name:

"I received the inspiration to publish the King Maker magazine while standing on the balcony of a hotel in Jerusalem in 2004." As I was looking out over the city, the roads were empty since it was Shabbat (the Sabbath). Then I noticed one car driving very slowly as it came up to a red traffic light, and stopped. Then I remembered that the traffic light, which had saved millions of lives all over the world, had been invented by a Black man, Garrett A. Morgan. Thousands of miles away in Jerusalem, one person had stopped at that light - and they probably did not know who had invented it.

At that moment, I knew I had to create a magazine that could honor minorities that had made great accomplishments to benefit others. I asked myself what such a magazine should be called. Suddenly I heard a voice, crystal clear and loud, as if it were standing behind me, say “IT SHALL BE CALLED THE KING MAKER”.

There are many in the world who are "kings" and "queens" through the outstanding contributions, service to humanity, effort, bravery and compassion, and are unknown. I felt this magazine would set the record straight. Perhaps we could make an accomplishment like the stop light, saving lives, and through the magazine, bring pride to minorities and the unsung heroes of the past and present. We will work passionately and diligently to fulfill a dream whose time has come.
